BIOGRAPHY
Andrew James Crispe was 18 years of age when he first began
private singing lessons. Within six months he was competing
in the Adelaide Eisteddfods, placing in all of his categories.
In 2000, Andrew auditioned for his first music theatre production
with the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of SA for their performance
of 'HMS Pinafore' and 'Trial by Jury'. Andrew has continued
to perform with the company ever since.
Andrew first stepped into a sound studio in 2003 to record a song
for the Australian-made film, 'Twin Rivers', by Two Tone
Pictures - a film for which he was Assistant Director. Andrew
was also Assistant Director for a small Adelaide production of
'Salad Days'.
In 2007, Andrew played Don Lockwood in the Northern Light Theatre
Company's production of 'Singin' In The Rain', for which he
received both an Adelaide Theatre Guide and Adelaide Critics Circle
nomination for the best male performance. Not long after this, he
started his career as a singing teacher, teaching both privately
and in Adelaide schools.
Andrew won his most loved role to date when he auditioned for Marius
in the G&S Society's production of 'Les Miserable', early
in 2008. Following this, he also won the hilarious and much coveted
role of Officer Lockstock in the Hills Musical Company's version of
'Urinetown'.
Due to popular demand, 'Les Miserable' saw a return to the
Adelaide stage in 2009 with Andrew once more playing the role of
Marius. This unexpected turn of events led to his being asked to
join the chorus of SOSA, the State Opera of South Australia.
In 2011, Andrew played the lead in the NLTC's season of the
'Beauty and the Beast'. For his outstanding performance as
The Beast, Andrew was nominated once more for a Curtain Call Award
by the Adelaide Theatre Guide for best male performance.
The G&S Society's production of 'The Secret Garden',
in 2013, saw Andrew in what he considers his most challenging role
to date. He played a lost and bitter soul, named Dr Neville Craven.
This role opened many doors giving him new opportunities to work in
the professional arena.
Following this, Andrew was asked to work for the professional production
of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', rehearsing with the two Adelaide
based child leads, Jeremy and Jemima, as well as the children's ensemble.
Also in 2013, Andrew was selected to be part of a small workshop production
in Adelaide, rehearsing a new musical in the making, 'The New Black'.
Also in 2013, Andrew was selected to be part of a small workshop

Brighton and Payneham City 'Carols by Candle Light', and he receives
regular work as a corporate entertainer.
